The first one in and the last one to leave. That´s the perfect description of a business owner. Somebody once said that we leave our secure 9 to 5 jobs in order to work 18 hours a day for ourselves in search of our own dreams. When starting a business, no one focuses on the negative; we live off positive thinking and we expect everything to go according to plan. Business is communication and movement, and so if we do not apply ourselves, we will achieve very little. 

Small office, intimate group of staff and everyone lives off Mr Delivery as there is no time to spend away from the hard work of making the business venture a success. For single, young entrepreneurs, there is no keeping a gold fish at home because you will hardly be there to feed it, and for the married driven business woman with children, apart from missing you, your family must have given up on the hope of you ever making dinner time, at least for the first year of your new venture. 

Things need not progress this way and get this far, even though business is fun. The first challenge to running a new company is maintaining focus and sticking to your business model. That takes time, energy and first priority. In the same process, small tasks begin to pile up and scream for your attention. This is where your small team begins to suggest an orderly or an admin person to take care of the new challenges. The problem, though, is that you are still a small enterprise and you can’t really afford to hire. This is when you begin wishing for a part-time assistant.

Admin tasks tend to take away your motivation and leave you with very little time in the day to spend on your real passion, creating wealth. The tasks we enjoy the least seem to take the longest to get through. Trying to stay motivated and focused becomes a challenge, and my suggestion to you is that you start making good use of that small budget and procure the services of a part-time assistant, or a virtual assistant. Think about how lovely it would be to finally rid yourself of all the responsibilities that bog you down and consume your precious time.
